Taming The Chinese Business Dragon For Florida

CBDA & Enterprise Florida
Connect For Florida Businesses in China – Platform for
Florida businesses to develop and expand in China and Asia

St. Petersburg, Florida / Shanghai, China (January 3, 2011): US-China Business
Development Associates (CBDA) is proud to announce that not only has it recently
become the official Enterprise Florida China representative to develop business for
Florida-based companies in China and that under the new Enterprise Florida relationship
CBDA has already secured a contract with a Florida firm to launch and grow their
business in China and Asia.

Formed in the 1990’s by a group of seasoned China business experts who have actively
led various Fortune 500 companies in mainland China, CBDA is unique in providing a
launch and development platform for US businesses in the China market leveraging upon
the substantial infrastructure, resources, and experience of the CBDA team.  Although
China offers outstanding opportunities for Florida based businesses, competition has
become much more intense and with the complex issues of dealing with the legal,
business and social environment in China, it is essential that new market entrants or
existing market players are well advised by trusted counsel.  CBDA provides a business
platform where small to mid-sized Florida-based companies can make their entry into
China with low risk and be provided with everything from high level strategic support
through to China market entry strategies, representation, staffing & operational facilities,
turn key business setup and legal advisory services.

According to CBDA Managing Director David Stiefel: “After 26 years advising global
corporations on legal and investment decisions in China and expanding by own China
direct investments, the opportunities in China are now greater than ever for US
companies. However, many businesses are still unsure of how to tap this potential.
Working with Enterprise Florida, CBDA is in a position to aid Florida companies of all
sizes design, manage, and execute, low-risk and cost effective market entry and startup
in China.”

Enterprise Florida selected CBDA after an extensive due diligence process as its official
representative.  According to Manny Mencia, senior vice president of Enterprise Florida’s
International Trade Division: “As we work to increase trade and investment flows from the
Shanghai region toward Florida, it’s vital that we, in turn, support Florida firms with
business facilitation and market entry assistance.  CBDA is helping to enhance business
opportunities for our state.”    The CEO of Orland based Channel Intelligence has this to
say regarding their recent appointment of CBDA: “We chose CBDA because of their
decades of expertise in Chinese market strategies and legal matters, and they shared
our sense of urgency when it came to expanding into this market.” Rob Wight, CEO,
Channel Intelligence

Many Florida companies, especially the small to mid sized companies that Enterprise
Florida focuses on, need China representation or assistance on a wide range of China
business issues.  In the case of Channel Intelligence (CI) (www.ChannelIntelligence.com),
the company needed to enter the marketplace and support the growth of e-business of CI’
s key customers in China and Asia such as P&G, Philips, and etc.  By working with CBDA,
CI was also able to develop a group of multi-lingual talented employees in China that
could not only assist in expansion of the CI e-business platform in China and Asia, but
also provide round-the-clock work capability with the China staff working on projects
during the evening hours in the US.  Multi-lingual CBDA staff were hired and assigned to
the CI project speaking fluent English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asia
languages. These data operators and customer account managers support CI customers
across Asia and around the world from Shanghai.

As a result of the CBDA relationship, the Channel Intelligence team got both the
representation in terms of their corporate flag in Shanghai (as their customers wanted to
support their e-business growth in Asia), and the outsourcing bang for their buck that
allows them to develop a 24-hour work cycle for the company.  This work cycle allows CI
to add lower value positions in Shanghai and expand higher value staff at its Orlando
offices while delivering around the clock results for its large and varied clientele.
